A website that fits how you work — not the other way around.

A finished website for businesses. No plugin chaos.

Many teams start with WordPress or a site builder — and end up with updates, slow pages and the feeling they never really control the tech. SteinCMS is different: we set you up on a finished structure. Events, posts and forms are already there. You log in, enter content, save. We handle the rest.

Who it’s for

You don’t need another website. You need less effort .

The alternative is rarely “no website at all” — it’s WordPress plus an agency, a builder, or running everything on Facebook and WhatsApp. That works for a while. The moment you add dates, enquiries or a second language, it gets messy.

  • Associations, parishes & culture

The problem: Dates live on Facebook, WhatsApp, a calendar — and on the website only when someone has time.

What you lose: Members check the group first, not your site. Because upkeep feels hard, the website stays stale — and looks lifeless.

The fix: With SteinCMS: one calendar, enter it once. The site shows it correctly. Optional sync outwards — nobody needs to “know WordPress”.

  • Trades & specialist firms

The problem: A generic contact form makes enquiries painful. There’s no pre-sorting by district, time window or service.

What you lose: Skilled time goes into calls that never become work. Anything that should pre-qualify costs extra — as soon as the process changes.

The fix: SteinCMS builds forms and flows that match how you work — from pre-sorting to booking, if you need it.

  • Businesses with their own tools

The problem: Price lists, open slots or product data live internally — and have to be copied onto the website by hand.

What you lose: The site lags behind the business. What’s already true inside is public only after someone feeds the page.

The fix: SteinCMS can connect your systems and show data live. One source — no double entry.

When switching makes sense

WordPress starts easy. Everyday use often doesn’t.

WordPress is the default — so almost every project lands there. What starts simple quickly becomes more work: updates, backups, plugins, small changes. That costs time and nerves — especially with calendars, forms or a second language.

  • 1. The load-time risk

Page builders and plugins often load more than daily use needs — and the site gets slow. Even 1–3 seconds of delay raise bounce rates. Slow pages look unprofessional and rank worse.

    Our standard

No plugin pile. No wasted weight. The site stays light — fast from day one.

  • 2. Updates & security

The update risk: core, theme, often many plugins, PHP version — one of them won’t survive the update. Most security holes sit in plugins. Forgotten updates are especially dangerous without in-house IT.

    Our standard

No third-party plugins. What the site can do lives in the system — including a GDPR baseline. Updates stay with us.

  • 3. Fighting WordPress

Tickets, calendar, forms, second language: on WordPress that’s often one plugin each — plus a licence, plus upkeep. Missing a feature means hunting — or calling developers again.

    Our standard

New features are built in, not bolted on. SteinCMS grows with you — no plugin marketplace.

How editing works

Enter. Save. Live.

New date, new post? You fill in a few fields — date, place, text, image. Layout and mobile view are handled by the finished structure. No page builder, no waiting on the agency.

What you save

Time, follow-ups and repairs

  • Minutes, not an afternoon

A date is online in a few minutes. No dragging blocks around, no extra pass for mobile.

  • The whole team can edit

If you can write an email, you can enter content here. A short handoff, not a course — and nobody waits for the one person who “does the website”.

  • Nothing breaks

You edit content, not the design. The layout can’t be wrecked by accident — so nobody has to fix it.

Two live projects in Vienna

Not a demo. Sites already used every day.

Edited by the people who already have the dates — not by web specialists. Tech and design stay with us.

Johannesgemeinde · Vienna

Dates and posts in four languages — edited in-house.

A faith community in Vienna: services, festivals and texts in four languages. Used to be split across a noticeboard, WhatsApp and a Facebook group — now one central calendar, entered by the people who already have the dates.

Event calendar of the Johannesgemeinde in SteinCMS, showing services in August
Before:
Dates in several places: noticeboard, calendar, WhatsApp, Facebook. Tedious — but still easier than learning WordPress.
Now:
One calendar, posts, language switch. You only log in when there is something to enter. The rest runs itself.
Who does what:
The community enters dates and texts. Tech and design changes stay with us.

Guanxi · cultural association, Vienna

Events, gallery and sign-ups — in one place.

A cultural association shows what happened and announces what’s next. For each event they build their own registration form — sign-ups land in the system instead of scattered inboxes.

The SteinCMS editor with the “New Year’s dinner” event, details and photo gallery
Before:
WordPress plus an event plugin. For larger events with many sign-ups, it still fell back to email and Excel.
Now:
Event page, gallery, calendar. Registration forms per event, with Excel export. Ticket links on the page — no extra shop plugin.
Who does what:
The association maintains dates, texts and images. The website saves them time instead of costing it.

  • No Google Analytics, no data trip to the US.
  • Your numbers, your login — not someone else’s dashboard.

Questions

What you want to know before you switch.

Editing, tech, timeline and exit — in plain language.

What is SteinCMS?

Not a DIY builder and not a plugin shop: a website on our finished structure, set up and looked after by us. You only maintain the content.

Can our team edit the content ourselves?

Yes. Dates, texts, images: fill fields, pick a date, upload a picture. No HTML, no plugin hunt. A short handoff, not a course.

Who handles updates, backups and hosting?

We do. Hosting, backups and updates stay with us. You look after content.

How is SteinCMS different from WordPress?

WordPress grows through plugins and themes — and each one wants to be maintained. With SteinCMS, what the site needs to do lives in the system. New features, and editor tweaks if needed, are built in rather than bolted on.

What about Wix, Webflow or OnePage?

Fine for a simple calling card. Events, custom forms or integrations get awkward fast — and you are tied to the vendor’s prices and rules. SteinCMS is extendable and can live on your own server if you want.

Does multilingual work without an extra plugin?

Yes. Languages sit in the structure, not in a bolted-on translation plugin. Which languages, we settle before kick-off. Translation is still work — you save the double tech.

Can SteinCMS be extended with feature X?

Yes. Calendars, forms, ticket links or connections to your systems are built into the website.

How long until the new site is live?

Depends on scope. Design usually takes about 2 weeks. If you already have a finished design, setup is often ready in about 1 week.

Are we locked in afterwards?

No. If you cancel, we snapshot the current version, export the CMS data and hand over the site as a static version — which you can host yourself until you move elsewhere.

Not sure SteinCMS is a fit?

Tell us in a first call what’s stuck — dates, sign-ups, languages, internal systems. We’ll show you how that looks on a SteinCMS site. No obligation.
